  • Macy’s and Penney say women and young families will be hurt by Trump’s tariffs
    J.C. Penney said that women will be disproportionately affected if the newly proposed tariffs on Chinese imports of apparel and footwear go through. Macy’s added that higher prices on baby garments caused by President Trump’s tariffs will hurt new parents.
  • Walmart using cameras and AI to thwart theft at the checkout
    Walmart is using computer vision technology to determine when cashiers or consumers using self-checkout fail to scan an item meant for purchase. In the two years since Walmart began using the technology, it has reduced rates of theft and other forms of shrink. The retailer did not provide specifics.
